Put simply, the 300 SL Gullwing sits high among the most influential and collectible Mercedes road cars of all time. As years go by, prices continue to rise especially for the coupe which was limited to 1,400 units only. Altogether, Mercedes built 3,258 300 SLs including the roadster.
There is at least one 300 SL for sale at every major auction yearly, prices will range from $1 million to $1.5 million depending on the history and nature of the car.
Offered for sale here, our 300 SL Gullwing has had 3 owners. The car was first delivered in New York to its first owner, before changing hands for the second time to a South African owner. There are two hand books available, revealing full history of the car. No restoration has been done yet as the car is still in running and great condition.
